India Report

June 9, 2008

During the month we were in India this year, we were involved in Church planting, training pastors and leaders, ministry to the poor, to medical and university students, local church and local communities.

We were blessed and encouraged to have four extra people from South Africa with us on team for a week, all  contributing to the overall mission with their individual giftings.

On an evening of hospital visitation the first person the team prayed for was a young man called Ruben who had been in the hospital with Typhoid for several days and was deteriorating. Sweat poured off him as he struggled to even open his eyes. .  His wife wept at the foot of the bed as we laid hands on Him and prayed in the Name of Jesus. As we continued to move round the ill-equipped hospital praying for the sick, we became aware that Ruben was slowly following us and continued to do so till we left, declaring that he felt much better and ready to go home! He took our advice to stay till his strength fully returned and the following day  blood tests revealed that there was no trace of typhoid to be found.

What a  great commission we have and what a great privilege it is to be called to preach the Gospel and to promote Kingdom values.  There is no greater joy in life than to see the power of God at work transforming lives, communities and nations.

We want to thank you for taking the time to read this newsletter and for your relationship with us.   We all have a part to play in extending God’s Kingdom ….  no part is of lesser or greater importance than the other. In fact we have discovered that although we may be able to live without a limb or an ear we most certainly cannot live without a heart or a lung. Whether our contribution is seen or unseen is irrelevant. The important thing is that we work as a team to get the job done.

God’s love extends further than my life, my family, my community, my country —his heart is always for the nations. To have a heart  for the nations is to have the heart of God.  And this is what all of us are called to do …… to express his heart to the nations.  Whether we are senders or goers we are important to the plans and purposes of God.

May God bless each & every one of you and constantly increase your hunger for Him.
