CHRISTIAN LOVE IS TO HOLD THE HEALTH, HAPPINESS & SPIRITUAL GROWTH OF OTHERS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS YOUR OWN
This is the philosophy of life we constantly seek to adhere to and we are thankful for people like you who hold similar core values and who see the importance of working together for the benefit of others.
We start this update with some very encouraging news from India – and a big thankyou to everyone who has helped make this possible!
As many of you know Jayaraj started a small cardamom plantation in order to take some more steps towards self-sufficiency. We were encouraged by the first years progress but keeping the plants watered several miles away from home- base was labour intensive to say the least in the dry season. Another step of faith saw Jayaraj digging for water in his cardamom field.
At only 10 feet down they struck pure water and were able to build a well. In his own words:’This is a miracle by the grace and mercy of God!’
We are really grateful to God for yet another step forward in helping the people there to become self-sufficient.
YOUR HELP HAS MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE!
Having seen Jayaraj take this costly step of faith on his own initiative, we decided to send an extra £300 at the end of May to enable him to buy a water pump and this is exactly what he has done….. so thanks for any finances you have helped provide for this project. Small amounts can make a big difference when we work together
MARY
The family went through a traumatic time when Jayaraj’s wife Mary was bitten by a poisonous spider last month. Her leg began to turn black and gradually it spread throughout her body. She was urgently admitted to hospital where she has been receiving treatment for the past month. We are grateful to God for His intervention through prayer and medication and although she is not fully recovered, she is now back home with the family
The hospital room, treatment and medication required must all be paid for however. This has amounted to around £320 a little of which Jayaraj has manged to pay for. Our aim this quarter therefore is to clear this debt along with our normal support. As always you are welcome to participate!
Before the end of the year our aim is to be able to send a parcel of warm clothing for the rainy season. Up in the mountains it gets very cold and damp. Everyone suffers, but particularly the old people who generally have little or no means of support. Good quality fleeces for warmth and waterproof clothing are particularly appreciated. We feel positive we can source good quality items, either new or second-hand. The shipping costs however are quite expensive depending on the size of container we use. We are planning initially to send a drum of clothing via Cochin which would be a great blessing. More news on that in our next update!
